Terms of Service
Last updated October 2026
The agreement between you and Elvee Limited for using Cortex. Please read it carefully.
Agreement
These Terms govern your use of Cortex (the "Service"), provided by Elvee Limited, Office 2 Tweed House, Park Lane, Swanley BR8 8DT, United Kingdom ("Elvee", "we", "us"). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these Terms and acknowledge our Privacy Policy. If you use Cortex for a company, you confirm you may bind it to these Terms. You must be at least 18.
The Service
Cortex is an App Store Optimization workspace: keyword and rank tracking, competitor analysis, review insights, metadata generation and publishing, Apple Search Ads and Google Ads management, revenue and attribution reporting from accounts you connect, alerts, an AI assistant, and an API and MCP server for AI clients. We may change, add or remove features; if we remove a material paid feature, we will tell you in advance.
Your account
You sign up with an email and password or with Google or Apple. You agree to:
- Give accurate information and keep it up to date.
- Keep your password, two-factor codes and API keys secure, and tell us promptly at [email protected] about any unauthorised access.
- Take responsibility for activity under your account, including actions taken by team members you invite and by AI clients or scripts using your API keys.
Connected accounts and actions on your behalf
When you connect App Store Connect, Google Play, Apple Search Ads, Google Ads or AppsFlyer, you authorise Cortex to access those accounts with the credentials you provide. For Apple Search Ads, that is an API client you create in your own Apple Ads account and share with Cortex; you can revoke it there at any time. Cortex reads data from them and, when you or an AI client using your API key asks it to, makes changes: publishing metadata and release notes, and creating or changing campaigns, ad groups, keywords, bids, budgets and statuses. You are responsible for reviewing these changes, for any advertising spend they cause, and for having the right to connect each account under that platform's terms.
Data processing for connected accounts
Data that Cortex reads from or sends to the accounts you connect (for example campaign, keyword, audience, install and revenue data) may include personal data. For that data you are the controller and Elvee is your processor, and this section forms the data processing agreement between us under UK GDPR and GDPR. Elvee will:
- process it only to provide Cortex and to carry out your instructions, which are these Terms and the actions you or your API key request;
- use it only for purposes consistent with the consent you obtained from the people it relates to, and never sell it or use it to build profiles for anyone else;
- keep it confidential, protect it with the measures described in our Privacy Policy, and require the same of the staff and sub-processors who handle it;
- use only the sub-processors listed in our Privacy Policy, tell you before adding a new one, and stay responsible for them;
- help you answer requests from data subjects and meet your security, breach-notification and impact-assessment duties, and notify you without undue delay of a personal data breach affecting your data;
- delete it, or return it on request, when you close your workspace or ask us to, within the periods in our Privacy Policy, unless the law requires us to keep it;
- give you the information you reasonably need to show compliance with this section.
You confirm that you have a lawful basis and any notices or consents needed to connect each account and to let Cortex process its data. Transfers outside the UK and EEA rely on adequacy decisions or standard contractual clauses.
AI-generated content
Some features produce content with AI, including metadata, keyword suggestions, review summaries, reply drafts and assistant answers. AI output may be inaccurate or incomplete and is not professional advice. You are responsible for checking it before you publish it or rely on it. As between you and us, you own the output generated for you.
Subscriptions and billing
Some features need a paid subscription.
- Trials: a plan may start with a free trial. Unless you cancel before it ends, the paid subscription starts automatically.
- Billing: subscriptions are billed in advance for each billing period through our payment provider and renew automatically.
- Cancellation: you can cancel at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period and you keep access until then.
- Refunds: fees already paid are not refunded for partial periods, except where the law requires it.
- Price changes: we will tell you before a price change applies to your next renewal.
Acceptable use
You must use Cortex lawfully and must not:
- Reverse engineer, decompile or copy the Service, except where the law allows it.
- Exceed rate limits, overload the Service, or access it by automated means other than our API and MCP server.
- Interfere with the security or integrity of the Service or other users' data.
- Use Cortex to break any app store's or advertising platform's rules, or to misrepresent your affiliation with any brand.
Your data and our IP
- Your data: you keep all rights in the data and content you bring to Cortex. You give us a licence to process it only to provide, secure and improve the Service, as our Privacy Policy describes.
- Our IP: the Cortex software, design, documentation and trademarks belong to Elvee Limited and its licensors.
Third-party platforms
Cortex relies on public store data and on APIs from Apple, Google, AppsFlyer, RevenueCat and Anthropic. We are not affiliated with or endorsed by them, and we cannot guarantee their availability or accuracy. Features that depend on them may change or stop if they change their services.
Disclaimers and limitation of liability
The Service is provided "as is". We do not guarantee any ranking, visibility, download, revenue or advertising outcome. To the extent the law allows, Elvee is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of profits, revenue, data or store visibility, and our total liability under these Terms is limited to the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud.
Suspension and termination
You may stop using Cortex and delete your account at any time from your profile settings. We may suspend or end your access if you seriously or repeatedly breach these Terms, if your use puts the Service or others at risk, or if the law requires it. What happens to your data afterwards is described in our Privacy Policy.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. We will post the new version here with a new date and, for material changes, notify you before they take effect. Continuing to use Cortex after that means you accept the updated Terms.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have non-exclusive jurisdiction. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live.
